The show had previously had its French premiere on 13 May 1986 at the Carrefour Européen
du Théâtre/Théâtre du Huitième in Lyon.
Closed 25 July 1987, then opened again 11 September 1987 for
another limited engagement till 21 February 1988.
Altogether, this production ran for 270 performances. It was reportedly seen by
nearly 400,000 people in Paris and by 600,000 more when it went on tour
to Germany, Spain and Israel.
